Customizing Your AWeber Opt-In Form

When it comes to standing out on the Internet, branding is positively critical. If you look like every other guy on the block, it’s really hard to stand out from the crowd.

That’s why people spend so much time and money on unique blog and website designs. In much the same way, it is important to give a good deal of attention to how you use AWeber opt-in forms as well. This mailing list can be the lifeblood of your online business.

So, how do you go about customizing your AWeber opt-in form? As it turns out, the process is not nearly as complex as you may think it is. AWeber provides its members with a Web Form Generator. This is the easiest way to integrate AWeber into your website, ensuring that the code will work properly.

The basic Web Form Generator can only get you so far. That’s why you will want to take the HTML code that it produces and adjust it to suit your particular needs and preferences. For starters, it is probably best to uncheck the box marked “Include beautiful form styles.” This removes some of the formatting for the form, allowing for greater customization.

If you are already familiar with creating other similar forms, the AWeber form works in much the same way. For instance, the “name” field would be coded as thus:

<input type=”text” name=”name” value=”" />

You can also include some of the hidden fields in your form. These include listname (where the subscribers are being added), redirect (the URL where subscribers go after submitting their information), and meta_required (indicating the names of fields that are required for a form to be accepted).

Another great way to customize your AWeber form is to use an image for the “submit” button. To do this, get into the web form generator in your AWeber account. Select “Form Type” from the drop-down menu and choose the “Submit Button” option. Click on “Advanced” and enter the image URL into the box. Hit enter and you’re good to go.

Want your form to be wider or narrower? Look for the “Width” input box underneath the template choices in the web form generator. Enter your chosen width in pixels. Alternatively, you can use the resize tab that is attached to the size of your preview form.
